I, Naja Salih Bomani, meaning "Success Pure Warrior" in Swahili, was born into a family of great female entrepreneurs. As a woman of great passion, honor and unwavering love for my family, I have always had a very entrepreneurial spirit (and was determined to find it’s origin) but did not know where it came from. After learning more about my ancestral history, I was inspired to create Anele Hair And Body, in honor of my late great grandmother Iris Selena. 

 As the creator would have it, I was born on my great grandmother's birthday, and my mother decided to bless me with the name, ”Salih”, meaning good and pure in Swahili - which spiritually connected with my great grandmother’s name "Selena". Sharing her birthdate and further being honored with her name allowed me to reflect on this full circle of life moment within my family lineage. We all have a purpose in life and in response to the natural shifts of life, I decided to take a leap of faith and extend my entrepreneurial spirit into a passion of my own. My grandmother was looking for products that would help nourish and stimulate her natural hair growth in a few areas. 

With little success, she came to me for advice since I was forever trying new products during my personal natural hair journey. As a result, I researched natural herbs and essential oils that would help my grandmother along her own natural hair journey - and I finally created a successful solution. What started off as a family resolution evolved into a community builder. I began to receive compliments and inquiries from close friends, clients and colleagues regarding my essential oil formulas! 

They wanted to know "What I was using that smelled so good?”…. not knowing it was the oil elixir I had been using on my hair and skin. Together, four generations of great female family entrepreneurs me daughter Salih, mother Lisa-Anne and grandmother Marie came together to commemorate and honor our matriarch through the launch of Anele’s which stands for Selena.
